The 2009-2010 ACE Professional Development Series focuses on creating a high-quality, enduring ACE program. There are two professional development tracks available, one specific to the needs of Grantees and the other specific to the Centers' needs. These sessions will be available throughout the year on a variety of technologies including webinars and podcasts, offering you a convenient way to expand your knowledge.

 Texas ACE Podcasts are easy to listen to and view! Get information around implementing the grant and ideas from fellow Texas ACE grantees that are presented through audio and video (enhanced) podcasts. You can listen to a podcast episode of choice directly on your computer or subscribe to Texas ACE Podcasts through your iTunes software. You can also download the audio to your portable device such as an iPod or mp3 player.

Texas ACE Strategic Planning Training consists of a two-part webinar series that provides support and tools in creating a cohesive strategic plan for your afterschool program. Here you will find the archived webinars as well as the tools used to support you in the development and self-assessment of your strategic plan.

 PRIME Logo PRIME: A Blueprint for Afterschool:
This blueprint was developed by TEA to help ACE achieve the following:

• Provide guidance to help grantees “build” the TEA vision of ACE
 
• Create a framework of critical elements on which all stakeholders will focus
 
• Provide context for implementation assurance and support
 
• Serve as an organizer for training and communication
 
• Blend program requirements with research-based information
 
This blueprint comprises of four categories of activities and program requirements, which include Planning, Resourcing, Implementing and Management all focused on creating an Enduring program. These activities equal PRIME: A Blueprint for Afterschool. Listen or view the PRIME Podcast.
Planning:
Create an enduring program through a comprehensive planning process that begins with a needs assessment that informs the strategic plan, each center’s service delivery plan and the annual operating plan.
 
Resourcing:
Connect the many valuable human and financial resources in your community to engage partners in strategic and long-lasting ways.
 
Implementing:
Implement a high-quality program that includes the four-component activity model through an effective and research-based curriculum delivered by well-prepared staff and volunteers.
 
Managing:
Manage resources effectively to create a dynamic program that meets performance standards, utilizes data to inform improvement, employs data confidentiality processes and complies with all grant requirements.
 
Enduring:
Maintain and evolve the program into one that has an enduring impact on students, families and the community.
